How to Prepare For a Headshot Session

How to Prepare For a Headshot Session

November 29, 2018

First impressions are everything; and stunning headshots make the best first impressions, especially in today's digital era. A headshot is supposed to capture who you are in this world, and in order to successfully do that, it's best to always be that person, especially when entering TALS STUDIO for your headshot session.  Despite your profession, or the purpose of your session, here's a note on how to get the most out of your photos.

If your photos are going to be used for professional purposes, we suggest wearing what you would usually wear on a regular work day. Are you a Real Estate Agent? Wear your best suit. Are you a nurse or doctor? Bring along your freshest set of scrubs. Are you a teacher, producer, or entrepreneur? Wear something casual.  If your'e a chef or professional sports player, feel free to bring something along such a spatula or any equipment you use such as a helmet.

For actors and models, it is best to dress for the role you are trying to get. If you're trying to land a role in a drama or horror film, darker toned clothing may work best, especially with a dark background. Headshots for a comedic or romantic role look best with brighter toned colors. If you can play just about any role, and you want to present this to casting directors, fell free to bring multiple outfits with you. Our Actor's Package gives you the perfect amount of time to get in 2-3 looks.

Have you ever seen a powerful photo of someone who works in your profession? Ever seen a creative photo that you wanted to recreate? If not, don't be afraid to do research and find a photo that you would like to recreate; something that will suits you.

There's no reason to be shy, unless you're naturally shy of course. If you book a photoshoot with us, it is your photoshoot, and you should own it! Be yourself. We want to capture who you are, and there's no better way for us to do that if we cant see who you are. (This applies to everyone!)

Lastly, no matter how much experience you have taking photos, you need not to worry about getting the perfect photo. With multiple photos to choose from, you're bound to come out with stunning images that you will be able to use for years to come, but remember, it's always best to keep an updated headshot on hand.
